Cameroon. All set for the 10th Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament (AFWCON)

Cameroon hosts the 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in a few days. The 2016 games are upon us, kicking off on Saturday, the 19th of November to 3 December in the Cameroonian cities of Yaoundé and Limbe. We wish all the eight teams participating in the tournament the very best.

The 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations are upon us, and the football action begins on Saturday, the 19th of November in Cameroon. There are eight countries taking part in the tournament and we are in for a treat.

The host nation Cameroon, Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe make up Group A whilst holders Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Mali are in Group B.

Undoubtedly, over the next coming 2 weeks the conversations are going to be dominated by the sporting action lined up.

Nigeria is the most successful nation is the tournament’s history, and the Super Falcons have won the trophy a record 9 titles, and counting. Equatorial Guinea, the only team which has won the competition before is not at this year’s edition, and the Super Falcons could stretch their impressive record.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana who have been runners up on four occasions, the Black Queens of Ghana (three times runners up) and Cameroon (three time finalists) have a chance to wrestle the crown from Nigeria, but it certainly won’t be a walk in the park.

Kenya is making its debut at the competition, and it will not be any easy ride for the Harambe Starlets who will battle it out with strong favourites Nigeria and Ghana in Group B.

We wish all the eight teams participating in the tournament the very best.
